About the role
The opportunity is to serve as a tax operations team lead, overseeing data preparation, aggregation, report preparation, and submission for tax information reporting and transaction taxes. Responsibilities include managing operations, monitoring progress, resolving escalations, ensuring standardized processes, supporting audits, and maintaining service quality.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead of tax operations team
- Manage operations team and provide visibility to leadership
- Oversee data preparation, aggregation, report preparation, and submissions
- Manage and monitor team's work, progress reporting, workload, quality, and utilization/overtime distribution
- Ensure consistent and standardized processes and procedures are implemented and in place for all tax operations
- Support client internal and external audits as needed
- Evidence performance and introduce efficiencies via production of KRI's and KPI's for management
- Take responsibility for Service Quality and manage opportunity and engagement risk
- Understand the business financials to ensure work is accomplished on budget
- Leverage standard technologies and processes while driving efficiency and quality of deliverables
- Act as a counselor and coach, develop a team of tax professionals, and actively participate in their performance management
- Travel 20% or less
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics
- A minimum of 8+ years of operational delivery experience
- CPA, EA, or licensed attorney
- Ability to prioritize, handle and track multiple assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong data analysis capabilities
- Ability to draft/design business requirements, process flow diagrams, and rules matrices
- Change management, operations, and process improvement experience
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities and actively engage in implementing improvements
- Demonstrated leadership skills and proven skills in developing employees
- Strong oral and written communication as well as presentation skills
- Exceptionally strong organization, process, and people management skills
- Excellent trouble shooting, execution, and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in tax accounting systems

Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years of operational delivery experience

Pay
Base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,100 to $188,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $123,800 to $214,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
Schedule
Most people in external, client-serving roles are expected to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
