Financial Planner (CFP®) - Private Banking

About the role
The Financial Planner supports the delivery of comprehensive, goals-based financial planning to HNW clients and families. This role is client-facing and execution-oriented, partnering with private bankers and senior planners to deliver high-quality planning analyses and recommendations. The Financial Planner focuses on developing planning deliverables, participating in client conversations, and helping integrate planning insights into broader wealth management strategies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and support financial planning analyses, including cash flow modeling, retirement projections, education funding, and scenario analysis.
- Assist in translating client goals into actionable planning recommendations under the guidance of senior planners.
- Participate in client meetings alongside bankers and senior Family Advisory staff to explain planning concepts and recommendations.
- Serve as a planning resource for bankers by responding to planning-related questions and ad hoc analyses.
- Utilize financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or similar) to develop projections and plan updates.
- Support consistent planning processes, templates, and documentation across client engagements.
- Stay current on planning best practices and regulatory considerations.
- Collaborate with investment, insurance, and lending partners to support integrated client solutions.
- Perform special projects and additional duties as required.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job, including completing required compliance trainings.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
- 4+ years experience in financial planning or wealth management.
- CFP® certification or active progress toward designation.
- Experience working with financial planning software and CRM tools.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in finance, accounting, wealth management, financial planning, or related disciplines (preferred).
- Experience working with HNW clients (preferred).
- CPA, CTFA, or CEPA (helpful but not required).

- Polished presentation skills and ability to quickly instill trust in clients.
- Able to explain financial planning topics in plain English.

Pay
Realistic expected base pay range for this role is $90,000 - $121,000.
