Financial Operations Controller

Essential Functions

  • Partner with Operations and Finance teams to lead development of increasingly efficient and impactful processes that support business financial needs such as improved linkages between operational drivers and the financials, KPIs, bridging results, forecasting, and budgeting efficiency.
  • Full knowledge of the P&L and FP&A skill set including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including creating financial statements.
  • Analyze and perform due diligence on new business opportunities.
  • Identify, resolve, or provide guidance on the resolution of complex data integrity issues while improving controls to address financial risk and support frugality.
  • Manage financial analysis process and develop appropriate key business metrics to measure growth, profitability, expense control, and productivity.
  • Produce and analyze monthly financial and productivity results to identify issues and opportunities for improvement, collaborate with Operations and Sales Operations teams to analyze and propose potential solutions to drive improved business results.
  • Use analytical approaches and modeling to develop innovative, high value-added financial information for the management team to make strategic and key financial decisions.
  • Educating business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs while making thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous environments where there may be scarcity of data points.
  • Prepare cost benefit models for new capex projects, track and analyze spend and ROI performance vs plan.
  • Assist with month-end close, prepare journal entries including accurate accrual and true-up accounting.
  • Achieve financial goals through effective business analysis, financial planning, cost management, and execution of earnings driven initiatives.
  • Publish periodic financial reports, including operational performance metrics, and overhead cost management, to provide leadership with visibility.
  • Perform analytical reviews of financial information to identify trends and opportunities, recommend improvements to drive cost efficiencies in balance with operational needs and capabilities.
  • Participate in special projects as needed, including process improvement and financial tools development and implementation.
  • Support implementations of various systems as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Complete ad hoc assignments as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week, with occasional busy periods around month-end close and other special projects.

Travel

Occasional travel required to other facilities across the U.S to support projects.

Required Education And Experience

  • Minimum 5 years Finance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Demonstrate strong functional expertise and understanding in end-to-end business service and process.
  • Energetic, detailed oriented, ability to adhere to deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Confident in building relationships across all functions and with leadership.
  • Commitment to providing the highest level of support and quality.
  • Calm under pressure.
