About the role
This is Pylon's first Controller role. The position is foundational and high-impact, overseeing all aspects of accounting, managing external relationships, and supporting the business as it scales.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close processes, consolidations, and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee processes including AR (Order-to-Cash) and AP (Procure-to-Pay), partnering closely with sales, rev ops, legal, and operations teams
- Implement and own the systems that will enable the business to scale (from ERP to reporting infrastructure)
- Design and implement robust internal controls and establish audit-ready processes
- Leverage AI agents and automation to reduce manual workflows such as transaction categorization and reconciliations
Requirements
- Professional experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role at a high-growth venture-backed start-up
- Experience owning a full-cycle close process and audit process
- Experience building or improving systems and processes from the ground up, not just inheriting a mature function
- Deep technical accounting knowledge including ASC 606 and multi-entity consolidations
- CPA required

Compensation Range
$210K - $240K
