Financial Markets Litigation and Enforcement Staff Attorney

About the role

Katten, a global Am Law 100 law firm, seeks a highly qualified Staff Attorney to join its premier Financial Markets Litigation and Enforcement group in the Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a wide variety of financial services matters, including both regulatory advice and disputes.
• Assist with private litigation and enforcement matters involving the CFTC, SEC, FINRA, and securities and derivatives exchanges.
• Disputes over equities or derivatives trade practices and enforcement of the federal securities or commodities laws.
• Prepare application materials and related documentation for clients seeking to register with the CFTC and SEC, as well as memberships with the commissions' self-regulatory organizations.
• Engage in related antitrust and white collar criminal matters as needed.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in financial markets litigation, regulatory enforcement, and/or compliance.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong writing skills.
• The ability to work well on a team.

Qualifications

• Bar licensed in Illinois or eligible for admission on waiver.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
