Financial Crimes Analyst Senior
About the role
Works both independently and within teams to conduct complex data analysis and identify, assess, and mitigate financial crimes risk. Executes policies and procedures to meet the bank's compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assumes leadership responsibilities within a group or team.

Responsibilities
- Assumes team leadership roles and responsibilities as required by management.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of financial crimes trends and typologies.
- Meets regulatory and business deadlines.
- Makes appropriate risk decisions related to financial crimes risk.
- Writes accurate and complete reports supported by facts.
- Considered a subject matter expert in the specific field and related Bancorp policies and procedures.
- Performs required tasks with minimal supervision.
- May lead team meetings or conduct one-on-ones with peers or direct reports.
- Understands the impact of organizational changes and assists with communicating those changes.
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in the compliance and regulatory environment.
- Contributes to financial crimes policies, procedures, and risk assessments as required.
- Identifies areas of process improvement to increase departmental efficiencies.
- Manages projects designed to improve the quality or efficiency of work produced.
- Maintains strong working relationships with all business lines and support groups.
- Prepares and manages communications with business lines, support groups, and external parties to ensure timely receipt of requested information.
- Conducts complex data analysis and documents findings appropriately.
- Leads special projects as assigned.
- Provides data and analytical support to business partners.
Bank Secrecy Act Requirements
Responsible for adhering to the reporting and record-keeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank's customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participating in ongoing related training.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Five or more years of financial crimes or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of financial crimes trends, typologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Solid understanding of first-line operational and organizational structure and Fifth Third Bank products and services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization in a clear, concise manner.
- Must demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical and critical thought processes when developing solutions or recommendations.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work under stringent deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires managing multiple and competing priorities.
- Ability to provide continuous coaching and training support to employees as required.
- Demonstrates decisive leadership ability.
- Demonstrates working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (primary bank and financial crimes applications & Microsoft Office Suite) without assistance and minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like. Extended viewing of a CRT screen.
Pay
Total base pay range: $61,200.00 - $125,500.00 USD annually.
In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with payment based upon company, line of business, and/or individual performance.
