Financial Controls & Compliance Manager (Hybrid)
Members of the Finance organization at select locations will generally follow a hybrid work model, which includes two days of in-office attendance each week. This role is based in Cisco’s Atlanta or RTP offices, requiring two days per week on-site.
About the Team
The SOX Readiness team is part of the Corporate Controller organization and partners with functional process owners and IT in the execution of Cisco’s enterprise-wide SOX Compliance Program. The team uses outstanding methodologies to enable continuous monitoring of the control environment and reporting in support of senior executive certifications.
Reporting to the SOX Readiness Manager, this role supports the risk assessment, prioritization, and execution of the SOX program for key financial functional processes. It offers broad exposure to Cisco's business processes and involves collaboration with internal finance, IT, and operations teams. The role also partners with project teams to evaluate the risk and internal control impact of large-scale projects affecting the control environment.
Responsibilities
- Enable transformational capabilities for Cisco by ensuring SOX controls maintain compliance as systems and processes are updated.
- Gain visibility into upcoming projects at Cisco and conduct initial risk-based project assignments.
- Ensure quality reviews and coordinate cross-functional risk assessments with key stakeholders and control owners.
- Provide timely, clear communication to stakeholders about their roles and responsibilities in supporting an effective internal control risk assessment.
- Act as a strategic partner with project teams, SOX Design Managers, SOX IT, external auditors, and business process teams.
- Set expectations and lead all aspects of SOX Readiness Risk Assessment activities.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of internal control, audit, or accounting experience with a strong understanding of financial reporting risks and control design.
- Experience evaluating end-to-end processes and process changes, including business processes and key systems/tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as MBA, CPA, CIA, or CISA (preferred but not required).
- Previous Big 4 experience (PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG).
- Project management experience in dynamic environments with deadlines.
- Familiarity with Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to partner across cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter capable of driving action items to closure.
- Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Adept at problem-solving and critical thinking, particularly regarding risk mitigation.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $105,400.00 to $138,200.00 for new hires in U.S. and Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate’s hiring location, market conditions, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and training. Below are the full salary ranges for specific locations:
- New York City Metro Area: $126,800.00 – $191,300.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $112,800.00 – $170,200.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
