Financial Analyst – Strategic Finance FP&A - Salt Lake City

Key Responsibilities

• Create, interpret, and analyze financial statements, models, and other financial data to support decision making.
• Conduct analysis in areas such as: Department performance, Profitability and product/loan performance, Cost analysis, Pricing and valuation, Budgeting and forecasting, Financial modeling and scenario analysis, KPI reporting and ad-hoc analytics.
• Evaluate business transactions, planning cycle activities, and financial outcomes with clear, concise analysis.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on financial metrics that drive incentive compensation plans.
• Analyze plan performance, model payout impacts, ensure compliance with policies, and provide insights to leadership.
• Partner with business units to support design, implementation, and administration of incentive programs for large employee populations.
• Collaborate with leaders across finance, business lines, business intelligence, and affiliates.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and confidence.
• Build strong cross‑functional relationships to ensure alignment between financial strategies and business objectives.
• Drive business process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
• Identify data issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analytics, or incentive compensation.
• Experience in financial services or mid‑to‑large financial institutions preferred.

• Strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; strong PowerPoint and Word capabilities.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI, Business Objects, or Python highly preferred.
• Experience with Hyperion Essbase, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio, or similar planning/reporting tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools desirable.
