About The Role
Whole Health Solutions, a segment of Optum that encompasses Behavioral and Clinical solutions addressing diverse health conditions across the continuum of care, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. This role serves as a strategic finance business partner supporting the Biometrics leadership within the product portfolio. The Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in providing financial planning, analysis, and reporting support, including month-end close activities, forecasting, long-range modeling, and strategic partnership with senior leadership. The position is designed to help guide growth and profitability initiatives, translating complex financial concepts into understandable insights for various stakeholders. The role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the United States, following a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week, enabling a balanced work environment while tackling challenging financial projects.
Responsibilities
- Solve complex and unique financial problems that significantly impact the business's strategic direction
- Participate in developing and refining business strategies in collaboration with product teams
- Translate intricate financial data and concepts into accessible formats for diverse audiences
- Develop, maintain, and distribute financial reports that illustrate actual results, forecasts, variances, and budget performance
- Create clear, compelling reports and presentations to communicate key financial insights to management
- Assist in management reporting, system reconciliation, and financial data validation
- Support the creation of forecasts and budgets for business leadership, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment
- Analyze trends related to revenue, product line profitability, membership, SG&A expenses, and other key business metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or systems analysis, including postgraduate or internship experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including financial modeling capabilities
- Experience working collaboratively within a matrix organization and influencing cross-functional teams
- Strong independent work ethic with the ability to prioritize tasks and operate with minimal supervision
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas verbally
Preferred Skills
- Experience using Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials systems
