Financial Analyst - Remote
About The Role
The Financial Analyst at Ryder will play a vital role in supporting the company's financial health and operational efficiency. This position involves providing detailed financial analysis, supporting month-end closing activities, and collaborating with various management teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance productivity. The analyst will be responsible for preparing forecasts, conducting business performance analysis, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations through branch audits. Additionally, the role entails acting as a liaison between the Business Units and Ryder's Shared Services Center and Corporate Accounting group, facilitating seamless financial operations across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Operations (preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, and general ledger research to ensure accurate revenue and expense classification.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements.
- Develop financial forecasts, support business planning, and analyze branch performance metrics.
- Provide financial training and support to Business Unit staff, including policies, procedures, and financial tools.
- Conduct branch audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and internal controls.
- Serve as a liaison between Business Units, Ryder's Shared Services Center, and Corporate Accounting to streamline financial processes.
- Track, report, and follow up on financial performance, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals.
