About the role

Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning. Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures. Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data. Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis. May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring budgets. May perform indirect cost analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning.
  • Captures and maintains accurate records of all transactions.
  • Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures.
  • Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.
  • Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status.
  • Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis.
  • Makes recommendations for budgetary adjustments based on financial analysis.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field and two years of financial analysis or accounting experience, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

This position requires in-person work at an Emory University location. Working remotely is not an option.
