About the role

The Financial Analyst 1-Hospital serves as a member of the Hospital Finance Team, providing financial services to hospital administration and management. This role contributes to productivity, budgeting, capital planning, and other financial analyses. The analyst advises management on relevant financial management aspects, reviews and analyzes other financial data throughout the organization, and partners with operational leaders to identify and eliminate budget variances and implement financial improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to productivity, budget, capital planning, and other financial analyses.
  • Advises management on relevant aspects of financial management.
  • Reviews and analyzes other financial data throughout the organization.
  • Presents to groups and teaches finance principles and concepts.
  • Identifies and eliminates budget variances and implements financial improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the Financial Planning and Analysis department to deliver comprehensive, coordinated financial services to operational leaders.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree or financial relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum one-year financial analysis or related experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of complex business principles, especially as it relates to healthcare operations, finance, and economics.
  • Able to interface with varying levels of organizational stakeholders, present to groups, and teach finance principles and concepts.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills required.
  • Able to cultivate positive, favorable working relationships with the various organizational stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of leadership principles required, including process improvement leadership, project management, and group facilitation.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The Financial Analyst 1-Hospital typically works a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
