Financial Aid Coordinator
Reports to: Dean of Student Financial Services
Location: Lawrence University, Appleton, WI
About the role
Lawrence University is seeking an in‑person Financial Aid Coordinator to support the Financial Aid Office and the Student Accounts Office. This role is the first point of contact for phone, email, and in‑person inquiries from students and parents. The position partners closely with students and families to navigate all aspects of the financial aid process, including aid processing and day‑to‑day office operations, while contributing to a responsive and service‑oriented team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Serve as the front‑line support for Financial Aid and Student Accounts, including phone calls, monitoring the general email inbox, and greeting walk‑ins.
- Assist with application materials, FAFSA and CSS Profile file downloads, and updating student records.
- Process and review reports regarding student financial aid requirements, student account balances, and ensure compliance with Federal Student Aid regulations.
- Assist with the disbursement of payments, including outside scholarships, 529 plans, and private loans.
- Coordinate processing of institutional payments for special programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs, software, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position works collaboratively with Admissions, Financial Services, the Registrar’s Office, Development, and other members of the Lawrence community, and includes networking with colleagues from other colleges and the broader financial aid community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prior customer service, data entry, and/or experience in higher education is preferred.
