Citi’s Fund Administration group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced financial professional to join our team as an individual contributor within a collaborative team of financial administration professionals. This role involves overseeing the assembly and reconciliation of periodic custody and accounting data to support the production of investment company financial statements, shareholder reports, and quarterly filings.
Responsibilities
- Audit Coordination & Client Relationship Management
- Primary Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and clients during annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial reporting cycles.
- Inquiry Resolution: Proactively respond to complex inquiries from both internal stakeholders and external clients, delivering "gold standard" client service.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients and audit partners to ensure smooth, timely reporting cycles.
- Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight
- Reconciliation Oversight: Perform periodic oversight of cash and security reconciliations, as well as manual accounting entries, ensuring all reconciling items are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.
- General Ledger Review: Conduct comprehensive periodic general ledger reviews to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Report Production Support: Oversee the assembly of periodic audit reconciliations of custody and accounting data to facilitate the production of high-quality fund financial statements and shareholder reports.
- Technical Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
- Regulatory Standards: Maintain and apply a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations relating to Registered Investment Companies.
- Financial Disclosures: Ensure compliance with applicable sections of mutual fund Registration Statements (SEC Form N-1A), specifically regarding financial statement presentation and Management’s Discussion of Fund Performance (MDFP).
- Tax Compliance: Understand and apply the applicable sections of Sub Chapter M of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and tax-related financial statement disclosures.
- Project Management & Continuous Improvement
- Process Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities for continuous process improvement to mitigate operational risk, enhance controls, and improve efficiency.
- Project Leadership: Manage assigned projects, participate in department-wide initiatives, and contribute actively to internal committees.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, business-related area, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional Experience: 5–7 years of financial reporting and fund administration experience, specifically within the mutual fund industry or equivalent investment company environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment company financial reporting requirements, disclosures, and the interrelationship of financial statement schedules.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Hands-on experience with the FIS AAIA fund accounting platform.
- Prior experience in people management or leading project teams.

Pay
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $94,000.00 - $141,000.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
