Applications Support Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President

The Application Support Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional who applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to new techniques and process improvements. This role integrates subject matter and industry expertise, requiring a comprehensive understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function and the broader business. The position involves evaluating complex issues with substantial potential impact, using analytical skills to filter and prioritize information from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are essential, along with the ability to assume informal or formal leadership roles within teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and business support for users of Citi Applications, including quick resolutions to app issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
- Maintain application systems post-development, ensuring stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
- Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Assess risk and impact of production issues, escalating to business and technology management as needed.
- Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability.
- Partner with development and production support teams to prioritize bug fixes and tooling requirements.
- Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
- Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate their impact.
- Define operating standards and processes, ensuring essential procedures are followed.
- Act as a liaison between users/traders, internal technology groups, and vendors.
- Raise problems to appropriate teams while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Coach and advise new or lower-level analysts.
- Provide evaluative judgment in complicated and unique situations.
- Drive Support Project items, including Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
- Operate with limited supervision, exercising independence of judgment and autonomy.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and team members.
- Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations while safeguarding Citi’s reputation.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
- Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
- Experience with programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
- Advanced execution capabilities with the ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization.
- Effective written and verbal communication, including explaining technical issues to non-IT staff.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and experience with issue tracking/reporting tools.
- Knowledge of problem management tools and good all-round technical skills.
- Ability to share information effectively with support and technology teams.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Consistently clear and concise communication with relevant stakeholders.

- SQL Server – SQL, Stored Procedures
- MS SQL, Redis, Oracle, or other RDBMS
- Unix/AIX/Windows
- MQ Series, NDM / IBM Connect::Direct / Kafka
- Scheduling Tools (Autosys/Control M)
- ITRS Geneos Monitoring tool (preferred)
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies (preferred)
- Observability tools such as GCO / Grafana / Prometheus
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
Pay
Full-time salary range: $87,280.00 - $130,920.00. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
