About the role
The Financial Accountant supports the organization's general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and contributes to timely month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, hands-on SAP experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Cash reconciliation: Record daily cash transactions and prepare related journal entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
- Support Treasury-related reporting and cash management activities.
- Month-end close:
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for routine accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Partner with HR to review payroll reports and ensure accounting accuracy; prepare payroll, bonus, and share-based compensation (SBC) journal entries.
- Record payroll accruals and related adjustments.
- Prepare prepaid expense amortization, FX revaluation, and other recurring journal entries.
- Support intercompany accounting activities, including reviewing delivery status, monitoring intercompany transactions, and preparing month-end reclassification entries.
- Fixed Assets:
- Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile Construction in Progress (CIP) accounts and support timely capitalization of completed projects.
- Support capital expenditure tracking and compliance with company capitalization policies.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, maintaining supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks, support continuous process improvement, and strengthening of internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred; candidates with strong accounting fundamentals and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Skills
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Mandarin language proficiency is preferred but not required.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,200 to $96,300.
