Due to internal staff movements, City of Newcastle has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance & Property team on a temporary part-time basis from October 2026 through to November 2027. Working 21-hours per week, this role plays a key part in supporting our financial operations by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all taxation activities. You will act as CN’s in‑house expert on all tax matters. You will be responsible for preparing and lodging monthly Business Activity Statements, managing the annual FBT return, overseeing GST reporting and compliance, processing Fuel Tax Credits and handling any other taxation requirements that arise. In addition, you will also provide advice and guidance to the finance team and other areas of the business on tax‑related matters.
