Financial Accountant

This role plays a key part in supporting our financial operations by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all taxation activities. You will act as City of Newcastle’s in-house expert on all tax matters.

• Prepare and lodge monthly Business Activity Statements
• Manage the annual FBT return
• Oversee GST reporting and compliance
• Process Fuel Tax Credits
• Handle any other taxation requirements that arise
• Provide advice and guidance to the finance team and other areas of the business on tax-related matters

Responsibilities

• Act as the in-house expert on all tax matters for City of Newcastle
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all taxation activities
• Prepare and lodge monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• Manage the annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) return
• Oversee GST reporting and compliance
• Process Fuel Tax Credits
• Address any other taxation requirements that arise
• Provide tax-related advice and guidance to the finance team and other business areas

Pay

$77,166.06 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 12% Superannuation pro rata per annum for a 21-hour week
