Responsibilities
- Maintain financial control procedures, systems and standards.
- Act as an active resource for the Plant Manager, Plant Controller, and other staff.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts and expense accruals.
- Assist in the month-end closing process, including journal entries and expense accruals.
- Prepare and analyze manufacturing and capital budgets/forecasts.
- Routine monitoring of manufacturing expenses and reporting results to the Plant Controller and Plant Manager.
- Resolve vendor issues and provide accurate accounts payable information.
- Control weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventories, including physical observation of inventory.
- Maintain fixed assets monthly reporting.
- Examine payroll, accounting, and financial information for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist and review open purchase orders and work with procurement and accounts payable to ensure all open orders are current.
- Perform daily production entry, receiving, and shipping in ERP systems.
- Receive goods from packing lists, reviewing paperwork for proper signatures and dates.
- Prepare and review weekly hourly payroll for transmission to Corporate.
- Review and approve time sheets for accuracy according to internal controls.
- Prepare and review payroll reports for management.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processing.
- Train supervisors on proper payroll procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Plant Controller.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 3 years’ experience (preferred).
- Proficient with MS Excel.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards, Accounts Payable, and Payroll (preferred).
- 1-2 years manufacturing experience, including an internship (preferred).
Skills and Knowledge
- Highly motivated individual with good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of employees.
- Good computer skills including use of Word, Excel, JD Edwards, and other software.
- Initiative and willingness to take on multiple projects.
Physical Requirements
- Able to climb steps, walk through the facility, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for weekly inventory.
- Position requires on-site 5 days a week.
