About the role

As our Finance Specialist, you’ll make sure our companies get paid accurately and on time. You’ll manage invoicing, track payments, and partner with internal teams and external clients to resolve questions. You’ll also help maintain financial records that support smooth operations across our business. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility for work-from-home on certain days.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send customer invoices; apply cash receipts and credits accurately
  • Monitor AR aging; follow up on past-due balances with friendly, professional outreach
  • Review, code, and process vendor bills and employee reimbursements
  • Schedule and track payments; maintain clean vendor and customer records
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, AR, and AP accounts on a regular cadence
  • Research and resolve billing or payment discrepancies with internal teams and clients/vendors
  • Maintain organized documentation and audit trails for all transactions
  • Support month-end close tasks and assist with year-end prep
  • Build simple weekly dashboards for cash, AR aging, and AP status in Sheets or Excel
  • Help track department budgets and note basic variances for review
  • Assist with collecting assumptions and updating forecast templates
  • Follow internal controls and compliance requirements, including approvals and policy checks
  • Keep SOPs and checklists up to date; suggest small process improvements
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with teammates, vendors, and clients across Colorfuel’s companies

Requirements

  • Early-career finance professional who’s organized, curious, and hungry to learn
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through; you double-check numbers and meet deadlines
  • Clear, friendly communicator who builds trust with teammates, vendors, and clients
  • Comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, basic formulas) and open to learning new tools
  • Familiar with basic accounting concepts (debits/credits, AR/AP, reconciliations)
  • Problem solver who can spot issues, ask good questions, and suggest practical fixes
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, keep tidy documentation, and protect confidential information
  • Team player who reflects our Credo of caring for each other and providing great service

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience; internships and relevant coursework are great
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Nice to have: experience with an accounting system (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)

Pay

Salary ranges between $50,000–$60,000 based on experience and qualifications.
