Finance Manager
About the role
The Finance Manager supports and manages resources across different regions, including financial reporting and control, income management, debt management, submitting invoices for payment for Accounts Payable, and accurately billing clients for services rendered. They oversee the functions performed by the Accounting Assistant, Financial Analysts, and other assigned financial staff.
Responsibilities
- Developing financial strategies: Analyze revenue, expenses, investments, and risks to create a financial strategy
- Perform analytical reviews of financial information to identify trends/opportunities
- Recommend improvements to drive cost efficiencies in balance with operational needs and capabilities
- Work with Operations team to develop Budgets and Forecast for Financial performance
- Create forecasts: Use historical data to create forecasts
- Reporting of actual results and analysis vs. plan
- Aid operations regarding cost budgets, quarterly forecasts, and other financial planning activities
- Prepare reports: Create reports to explain financial recommendations to senior management
- Play a significant role in the accurate and timely preparation of internal financial reporting and analysis
- Analyze records of present and past operations, trends, and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses
- Publish periodic financial reports, including but not limited to accounts payable, freight and consumable metrics, to provide department owners and leadership visibility to financial results
- Set goals: Help set financial goals and create a roadmap to achieve them
- Participate in special projects as required, including process improvement and financial tools development and implementation
- Manage financial process improvements, Key Performance Indicators and tracking of strategic initiatives
- Support of various internal and external financial and system audits
- Manage resources: Manage and develop assigned resources effectively
- Plan, organize and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company's monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure swift payment of invoices
- Collect and confirm accuracy of all charges and expenses for a file to be billed
- Manage Accounts Payable process: coordinate purchasing and tracking of vendor invoices through the system and associated revenue accruals
- Financial: Month-end close responsibilities: journal entries, corporate submissions, expense management, budgetary support for cost centers and ad hoc analysis
- Prepare month-end journal entries – focused on cost accruals
- Complete the monthly Client Profitability Model
- Attend meetings as required, documentation & distribution of meeting minutes, etc.
- Create or assist with the design and development of presentations
- Effectively communicate with employees, customers, suppliers & others on behalf of site management
- Identify opportunities: Identify when and how operations can optimize their assets and investments
- Produce cost quotes, strategic business cases, risk assessment and other ad-hoc analysis in support of the business
- Schedule and meet with vendors to ensure competitive pricing is maintained
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in a similar role within a logistics or transportation company
- Experience in managing teams and leading financial processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $115,000.00 – $125,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Schedule
This is a Full-Time position.
