About the role
The Finance & Investment Funds Pursuits & Directories Sr Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the firm's strategic initiatives by developing compliant, on-time, best-in-class, and client-centric formal RFP responses and pitch responses. This position collaborates with stakeholders to create compelling deliverables that position DLA Piper to win new work.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate opportunity assessments and develop project plans.
- Organize and conduct kick-off calls with lawyers and colleagues.
- Gather and draft relevant content.
- Coordinate with client pricing, BD, and other business professionals.
- Incorporate competitive intelligence to tailor responses.
- Ensure high-quality, error-free proposals are submitted.
- Leverage client intel to identify, create, and update information that differentiates DLA Piper from competitors.
- Support pursuit activities across Finance and Investment Funds.
- Maintain and update a robust experience library.
- Collaborate with attorneys and colleagues on directory submissions.
- Manage junior members and instill substantive practice knowledge.
- Utilize and instill discipline in AI among team to improve both process and content creation.
- Owes maintenance of standard materials in conjunction with BD and Marketing colleagues.
- Works in collaboration with BD & Marketing colleagues to coach lawyers on in-person/virtual presentations.
- Drafts, edits, formats, and reviews proposal documents.
- Prepares unique content and graphics to enhance and create compelling proposal and pitch meeting documents.
- Works closely with other business development and marketing staff to identify creative new ways to enhance proposal and presentation deliverables.
- Works with groups to ensure the experience database is populated with accurate, updated, and correctly tagged pitch-ready descriptions.
- Provides tailored and formatted experience lists and/or facilitates curated self-service lists.
- Drafts, edits, and reviews Chambers and Legal500 directory submissions.
- Proactively extracts pitch trends to identify potential BD opportunities and assess and scale the pipeline.
- Safeguards projects managed by direct and indirect reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
- 10+ years’ relevant experience in managing RFP responses, building pitch documents, and managing projects.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Sedentary work: Sitting most of the time.
- Remote and in-office work arrangements may be offered.
- Work environment may involve digital/virtual conference calls and meetings.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
