Finance Director/Town Accountant
About the role
The Town of South Hadley is seeking a collaborative and skilled municipal finance professional to serve as our first Finance Director/Town Accountant. This newly created senior leadership role will integrate administrative and financial coordination across our Accounting, Treasurer/Tax Collector, and Assessing functions, establishing a unified vision for our financial operations. Working in close partnership with the Town Administrator, the successful candidate will serve as a principal financial advisor to town leadership, spearheading budget development, long-range financial planning, and the ongoing stewardship of our town’s financial health. We are an Aa2-rated community, and the incoming Director will play a vital role in building upon our strong foundation while implementing an evolving organizational structure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible finance or accounting experience
- Knowledge of Massachusetts municipal finance law is required
- Experience in the field is preferred
Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range: $110,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience.
