Principal Responsibilities
- Finance, Grants & Medicaid Redesign Program Revenue Cycle: 70% - 80%
- Prepare financial reports and invoices for all grants, contracts, and third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate submission to government funders, private foundations, and Social Care Network
- Ensure financial compliance with government, private foundation, and Medicaid Redesign program funding and billing requirements
- Review journal entries, allocations and monthly books closings
- Oversee Medicaid Redesign program billings, operations and processes, including denial management, reconciliations and reporting
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries from funders, payers, and other key stakeholders across Met Council and external agencies
- Oversight of Capital Projects financing
- Strategic Initiatives & Executive Support: 20% - 30%
- Partner directly with the Chief Financial Officer to advance the priorities of the Fiscal Department, managing the cadence of key deadlines
- Help with the preparation of special financial reports, projections, and financial statements for Met Council
- Act as a trusted extension of the CFO across the organization, representing the Fiscal Department in cross-functional meetings, following up on action items, and ensuring alignment between Finance and program, development, HR, and executive teams
- Cook up cross-departmental finance initiatives on behalf of the CFO, including process improvements, system implementations, and ad hoc strategic projects

Skill and Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or Business (required)
- At least 6-8 years of progressive grant accounting and/or nonprofit finance experience (required), including leadership of complex grant portfolios and direct experience preparing reports for executive leadership; familiarity with Private Foundations, New York City and New York State funder requirements (DFTA, DYCD, OTDA, etc.) (required)
- Hands-on experience with SCN billing and revenue cycle management (required), including claim submission, denial management, eligibility verification, and reconciliation of SCN receivables; familiarity with eMedNY and/or SCN Managed Care billing strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted partner to senior leadership (required), with experience managing executive-level priorities, and drafting reports for C-suite audiences, and discreetly handling sensitive financial and personnel matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF functions) (required)
- Must possess strong critical thinking, judgment, and project management skills; able to understand the impact of budgets, contracts, and revenue streams across the agency and translate complex financial information into clear guidance for non-finance stakeholders
- Familiarity with PASSPort, Grants Gateway (preferred)
- Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance (preferred)
Compensation
$125,000 - $135,000 per year
