Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Staff and Sr. Accountants supporting the Finance function, including coaching, workload planning, and performance feedback
- Oversee month-end and year-end close activities and prepare/review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages
- Review and approve key journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Cook up and maintain KPI dashboards and executive reporting (sales, margin, labor, overhead)
- Build and maintain ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support decision-making
- Prepare revenue and expense analyses and partner with business leaders to identify risks, evaluate opportunities, and support informed decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, controls, and reporting across business segments, including standardization and automation
- Occasional overnight travel (up to 5%) may be required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in accounting/finance (public and/or private), required
- Three years of experience leading or managing employees, required
- Mechanics accounting/finance experience, strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-entity reporting and/or foreign currency reporting, strongly preferred
- Experience in FP&A-style analysis and business partnering (e.g., profitability analysis, pricing/margin analysis, KPI development, and executive-ready reporting), required
- Strong financial modeling skills with advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., Power Query/Power Pivot, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas); experience with data extraction/analysis tools is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Management Reporter (or similar ERP/reporting tools) is a plus
