Finance & Administration Officer - Robert Sandilands School
About the role
The Finance & Administration Officer is responsible for managing the purchasing of school resources, updating the accounting system for all purchase orders, receiving deliveries and checking them against orders, processing invoices, preparing BACS runs, managing the School Social Media accounts, monitoring the collection, reconciliation and banking of any monies received by the school from pupils and parents, assisting with the planning and organization of day and residential school trips, ensuring the school personnel database is updated, and supporting the School Business Manager in maintaining the school's personnel records and files.
Responsibilities
- Managing the purchasing of school resources and updating the accounting system for all purchase orders.
- Receiving deliveries and checking them against orders.
- Processing invoices and preparing BACS runs.
- Managing the School Social Media accounts.
- Making sure the school personnel database is up-to-date and supporting the School Business Manager in maintaining the school’s personnel records and files.
- Aiding with the planning and organization of day and residential school trips.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a school environment (desirable).
- Knowledge of Bromcom (desirable).
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing packages.
- Knowledge of managing social media accounts.
- Good general communication skills.
- Good telephone manner.
- Good organisational skills – able to prioritize workload.
- Tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, sensitivity, and a good sense of humour are paramount to this post.
Qualifications
- Desirable: Experience of working in a school environment.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Bromcom.
- Desirable: Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing packages.
- Desirable: Knowledge of managing social media accounts.

£26,403 - £28,598 FTE (Actual Salary £19,300 - £21,397)
Schedule
32 ½ hour part-time, permanent, term time only contract.
