About the role
Fellowship Recovery is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee and strengthen the organization's financial operations. This role plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting strategic decision-making, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing oversight of multiple funding sources.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Develop and monitor organizational budgets
- Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections
- Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee accounting processes
- Reconcile accounts and review financial transactions for accuracy
- Track all Housing Support revenue and expenditures
- Monitor restricted funding and ensure proper allocation
- Develop financial tracking tools for program funding
- Assist leadership in financial reporting related to state funding and contracts
- Partner with Human Resources regarding payroll budgeting and compensation planning
- Review payroll reports for financial accuracy
- Aid in executive compensation administration
- Monitor labor costs and staffing expenditures
- Coordinate annual financial audits
- Serve as liaison with external CPA and tax professionals
- Assist with tax filings and financial reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable nonprofit/healthcare financial regulations
- Oversee banking relationships
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes
- Review vendor payments
- Improve financial policies and procedures
- Develop executive dashboards and financial reports for leadership
- Provide financial insight to leadership regarding organizational growth
- Assist with long-term financial planning
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit organizations
- Experience with state-funded programs or grant accounting
- Experience with accounting software and financial reporting platforms
- Strong analytical thinking
- Ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations
