Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees all operations in the Corporate Accounting & Finance Department, including accounts receivable and payable, auditing, and financial reports.
- Maintains fiscal records and prepares financial reports according to established systems and principles.
- Develops and implements systems, policies, and procedures for financial matters to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with professional accounting practices and regulations.
- Coordinates and prepares internal and external financial statements, budgets, accounting analysis reports, and other financial reports.
- Prepares special reports for upper management and regional headquarters as requested.
- Analyzes and interprets statistical and accounting information to assess operating results and identify areas for improvement.
- Covers cash flow status and manages available funds.
- Coordinates activities with internal and external auditors, including scheduling, analysis, and responding to inquiries.
- Maintains insurance policies and ensures adequate coverage with favorable rates.
- Supports the Tour Operation Department in obtaining insurance for various events.
Essential Duties
- Plans, directs, and coordinates all accounting operational functions to meet company and regulatory requirements.
- Manages consolidation of financial data for accurate reporting of business results.
- Prepares and analyzes financial statements, budgets, and accounting analysis reports.
- Coordinates and prepares special reports for upper management and regional headquarters.
- Maintains control over the company's insurance policies and ensures adequate coverage with favorable rates.
- Supports the Tour Operation Department in obtaining insurance for various events.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.
- CPA license preferred.
- 7 years progressively more responsible experience in accounting, with 5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Tour operation and information knowledge preferred.
- English/Japanese speaking required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems and company-specific software.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, software, application programs, email, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts.
- Detail-oriented, highly accurate, conscientious, and able to work independently and with a team.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent oral communication skills to communicate effectively with employees, management, other top management, affiliates, and external contacts.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, handle conflict constructively, and handle stressful situations.
Physical Demands
- Sit, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally lift or move boxes up to 20 pounds.
- Regularly sit in front of a computer or on the telephone for long periods of time (2 hours at a time).
Working Conditions
- Working Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional work outside these days and hours.
- Hybrid work environment, in air-conditioned office 2 days per week.
- Occasional travel to various locations outside of the office to meet with business partners as necessary.
- Equipment Used: PC, printer, 10-key, copy machine, fax machine, typewriter, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
