About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Packaging Equipment Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing high-speed filling and packaging equipment used in the production of personal care, cosmetic, OTC, pharmaceutical, or food products. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with automated packaging equipment, and the ability to perform efficient changeovers while ensuring maximum production uptime, product quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate filling and packaging equipment for liquids, creams, gels, fragrances, and other products.
- Perform quick and accurate equipment changeovers based on production schedules and SOPs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on packaging machinery.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP, MoCRA, OSHA, and company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, production records, and equipment documentation.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic schematics.
- Train production operators on proper equipment operation and changeover procedures.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting packaging equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Cosmetics, Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, OTC Products, Food & Beverage, Consumer Products.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing equipment setup, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records and documentation.
- Experience with the Following Equipment: Liquid Fillers, Piston Fillers, Overflow Fillers, Pump Fillers, Peristaltic Fillers, Cappers and Chuck Cappers, Labeling Machines, Conveyors, Induction Sealers, Inkjet or Laser Date Coders, Shrink Tunnels, Cartoners, Case Sealers, Checkweighers, Bottle Unscramblers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience with BatchMaster or SAP Business One (SAP B1).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Familiarity with FDA cGMP and regulated manufacturing environments.
