Filler Seamer Operator - Day Shift

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Runs machine and makes changeovers per scheduling
• Verifies the pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet and feed lids or pouches to the seamer
• Maintains monitoring and recording of pouch or can information
• Runs QC inspector samples for seam tear down, monitor and record
• Verifies proper product amounts and makes adjustments to can or pouch weights per quality control instruction
• Keeps the area clean in down time and changeover events
• Performs weekly sanitation
• Participates as a member of the team
• Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members
• Attends appropriate team meetings
• Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
• Identifies and resolves issues, and actively looks for ways to achieve synergy within the larger organization

Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives

• Familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies)
• Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas

Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

Background in manufacturing

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Some college and/or Tech School
