Responsibilities
- Run machine and make changeovers per scheduling.
- Verify pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet and feed lids or pouches to the seamer.
- Monitor and record pouch or can information.
- Run QC inspector samples for seam tear down, monitor, and record.
- Verify proper product amounts and make adjustments to can or pouch weights per quality control instruction.
- Maintain cleanliness in the area during downtime and changeover events.
- Perform weekly sanitation.
- Participate as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings.
- Foster strong team cohesiveness regarding major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
- Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and bring them to the team leader’s attention; work collaboratively to resolve issues.
- Support Simmons’ operating systems principles and objectives (e.g., quality, security, company policies).
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
- Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Background in manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college and/or technical school education.
