About the Role

Control filler speeds and the flow of the production plant, monitor and maintain fill operations in accordance with HACCP/SQF/SGFM programs and procedures. Change out Jar Inverter to the specific jar being used.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment using a touch screen interface.
  • Record container weight, metal detector results, fill temperatures, container counts, and downtime.
  • Set up equipment including PC table settings, filler change parts, filler height/volume, temperature charts, metal detector, bottle sanitizer, and Carleton twist.
  • Conduct allergen cleans following SQF/HACCP/sanitizing procedures.
  • Verify jar quality and remove/report any defects.
  • Communicate constantly with relevant personnel about production operations.
  • Work under pressure while multitasking.
  • Observe and report filler temperatures at all times.
  • Clean filler parts before placing them back in the COP room during changeovers.
  • Build a team environment within the immediate work area and throughout the organization.
  • Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP’s/OSHA/Preventative Controls.
  • Participate in the SGFM training program, including training all employees in your immediate work area.
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned by a supervisor.
  • In the absence of the primary employee, ensure all food safety and quality responsibilities are fulfilled by delegating tasks to remaining staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull materials in excess of 200 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and bend.
  • Manual dexterity with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Basic mathematic and reading skills.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs.
  • Able to work in hot/humid (in excess of 110°F) and cold (below -20°F) environments.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry using the LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
