Field Training Instructor Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and continuously improve the 90-Day Accelerated Boot Camp by overseeing curriculum delivery, instructional quality, program scheduling, competency assessments, and trainee outcomes across all assigned training modules, including National Electrical Code (NEC), Electrical Theory, Blueprint Reading, Conduit & Installation, Safety, Leadership & Professionalism, and Company Culture & Standards
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate Electrical Training Instructors while establishing performance expectations, instructional standards, and professional development plans
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance training curriculum, lesson plans, instructor guides, practical exercises, competency assessments, and instructional resources that align with company standards, Department of Labor apprenticeship requirements, OSHA regulations, and current National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
  • Evaluate trainee progress through written examinations, practical skills assessments, instructor feedback, and competency evaluations while implementing coaching and development plans for individuals requiring additional support
  • Partner with Operations, Field Leadership, Human Resources, Recruiting, and Workforce Development to coordinate cohort scheduling, enrollment, workforce planning, and successful transition of graduates into field operations
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, attendance records, trainee evaluations, certifications, assessment results, and performance metrics while ensuring compliance with company policies and Registered Apprenticeship Program requirements
  • Monitor program effectiveness through key performance metrics, graduation rates, field performance, retention, and stakeholder feedback while identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning by reinforcing company values and ensuring all training activities align with organizational expectations and operational goals
  • Support apprenticeship recruitment, orientation, graduation ceremonies, career fairs, workforce development initiatives, instructor meetings, and other special projects that strengthen the organization's training and talent pipeline

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on electrical construction experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or comparable electrical environments
  • Demonstrated experience in technical instruction, workforce training, coaching, curriculum delivery, program leadership, or a related people-development function
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code, electrical theory, blueprint reading, conduit installation, field construction methods, and OSHA safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, evaluate, and hold accountable a team of direct reports
  • Ability to communicate complex electrical concepts clearly to entry-level learners with varying levels of education and trade experience
  • Strong leadership, presentation, organization, scheduling, documentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cohorts, instructors, training priorities, and program deadlines in a structured and results-driven environment
  • OSHA 30 certification required or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, training platforms, and electronic recordkeeping tools
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed to support training, field evaluation, and workforce development activities
