Field Technician, Traffic Counter
Seasonal position performing traffic data collection activities in North Central WV. Involves weekly travel for approximately eight (8) weeks, working alongside a second individual to complete daily installations, removals, and documentation of traffic counting equipment. Work is performed near active vehicular traffic.
Responsibilities
- Perform multiple field tasks involving the placement of hoses and counters throughout the day
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and without onsite supervision
- Use equipment and tools safely and properly
- Friendly, positive attitude
- Punctual and reliable
- Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record
- Physically able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time and lift up to 30 pounds
- Physically able to perform multiple field tasks involving the placement of hoses and counters throughout the day
- Reliable transportation; available for occasional overnight travel
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions
- Regularly works near moving vehicular traffic and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
- Exposed to various weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud
- May need to move and lift field equipment and tools, and stand for extended periods of time
