About the role
Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Reno, NV. This position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consulting environment, capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects with opportunities for growth and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Field and laboratory testing of construction materials
- Maintain required certifications
- Coordinate with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff
- Travel to client facilities as needed
- Report writing and computer skills
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results
- Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager
- Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed
- Assist higher-level technicians on complex tasks
- Maintain assigned equipment and related calibration
- Follow safety rules and practices for all projects
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
- Ability to lift 40-50 pounds
Requirements
- High School Diploma (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- ACI Certifications (preferred)
- Educational or professional background in construction inspection services
- Experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt as they relate to site construction
- Experience in airfield pavement construction or landfill construction quality control/assurance is a plus
