About the role

This role works closely with engineers, project managers, customers, and field teams to install, commission, validate, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and controls systems supporting power generation and hybrid energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cold and hot commissioning activities and validate hybrid energy systems at project sites.
  • Support projects from installation and startup through commissioning, operations, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with customers, utilities, contractors, and internal teams to implement electrical, mechanical, and controls solutions.
  • Utilize remote monitoring, metering, instrumentation, and data acquisition tools to support system performance.
  • Execute and validate operational, maintenance, testing, and commissioning procedures for power and energy systems.
  • Coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, documentation, commissioning, and testing activities while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Support engineering, service, and maintenance teams in the ongoing operation of deployed systems.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to field personnel responsible for installation and commissioning activities.
  • Travel approximately 50% or more to support project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience supporting mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Experience working with energy infrastructure such as solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), natural gas generation, diesel generation, transmission, or distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and hazard awareness.
  • Familiarity with electrical power system components including transformers, switchgear, inverters, battery systems, HVAC support equipment, and grid interconnection infrastructure.
  • Experience planning, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, or decommissioning electrical power equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Valid driver's license.
