About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Field Service Technician - Nevada/Utah Area. The Field Service Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites. This role will largely cover the Nevada/Utah market.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts/components or systems according to scopes of work
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
  • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with the industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
  • Stay current and in compliance with all Sandvik, Customer, State, and Federal regulatory safety policies
  • Ensure customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility

Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience or education in the area of: Mechanical and/or Electrical troubleshooting on medium/high voltage equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipment
  • Capability to interpret diagnostics from advanced onboard systems to pinpoint faults
  • Understanding of and conforming to ISO standards

Qualifications

  • Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Possess a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields and a minimum of 7 years industry related experience
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with a customer service based personality
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Possess strong safety skills and ability to work alone and stop work, if required
  • Familiar with MSHA standards

Skills

  • Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipment
  • Ability to interpret diagnostics from advanced onboard systems to pinpoint faults
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Pay

The pay range for this role is $33.00 to $36.00/hour and is eligible for overtime and holiday pay.

Schedule

The current schedule is 5 days a week, occasionally up to 16 hours/day with the possibility to move to 4 days a week schedule.
