About the role
The US Central Environmental business is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join their field team in Taos, NM. This position involves supporting various remediation and O&M projects across the region.
Responsibilities
- Support operation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance
- Data collection and site inspections
- System performance sampling
- Equipment and chemical inventory management
- Field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc.
- Collection of detailed field notes and excellent oral communication
- Coordination with contractors and service providers
- Oversight of contractor activities
- Support and oversight of other field activities
- Coordination with project team, local stakeholders, and clients
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required; College degree in environmental related fields (geology, wastewater operations, environmental science) is preferred
- 5+ years of environmental field experience
- Good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Ability and willingness to perform field work and work overtime as required
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus
