Field Technician (CA) - Entry / Mid

About the role

The US West Environmental business of GHD is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join their field team in Bakersfield, CA.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of remediation and O&M projects throughout the region
• Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance
• Data collection, site inspections, and system performance sampling
• Field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc., in compliance with applicable standards
• Collection of detailed field notes and excellent oral communication
• Coordination with contractors and service providers, and oversight of contractor activities
• Support and oversight of other field activities as needed
• Coordination with project team, local stakeholders, and clients

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required; College degree in environmental related field is a plus
• 1-4 years of environmental field experience
• Good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Ability and willingness to perform field work and work overtime as required
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screenings, to the extent allowable by applicable law

Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $31.00 - $52.00

• $31.00 - $52.00 per hour
