Field Technician - New Orleans, Louisiana
About the role
This role supports network operations by applying technical knowledge to maintain and improve network performance and reliability. It involves providing technical assistance, managing smaller projects, and contributing to operational process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to resolve network performance issues and contribute to outage resolution efforts
- Manage smaller projects or project segments, delivering accurate status and progress updates as required
- Identify and recommend process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities to senior staff and management
- Absorb and assist in developing job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documentation in collaboration with senior technicians
- Complete required training to maintain current knowledge of systems, products, and organizational standards
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
- 2-4 years - Working experience in Field Operations and maintenance.
- 2-4 years - Wireless telecommunications or other related experience.
- Electronics (Required) - Basic operational knowledge and theory of all interconnecting circuits to include but not limited to RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio and AC-DC power systems, and AI.
- RAN – Radio Access Network equipment - Experience with Nokia and/or Ericsson RAN technology is a plus
- Attention To Detail (Required)
- Problem Solving / Troubleshooting - Solves problems using creativity and innovation. (Required)
- Computer Fluency with ability to use programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated; exhibits initiative in achieving company goals and objectives.
- Basic leadership skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Flexibility with ever-changing environments and priorities.
- Flexible hours are a must. Day and night work is part of the job, as well as being part of an on-call rotation for the market, which includes weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift 50-70 pounds as well as being outside in the elements is an expected part of this role.
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age to operate a company assigned vehicle
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
