Responsibilities
- Independently travel nationally and internationally as Maag/Gala’s primary technical representative to customers.
- Interact with customers daily to provide solutions to maintenance, installation, and repair issues.
- Conduct annual follow‑up calls to all Maag/Gala customers to check on equipment and satisfaction.
- Participate in customer visits to support equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Plan logistics, coordinate with interagency contacts and the customer, execute trips, and report activities and expenses.
- Provide training to customers at Maag/Gala’s facility and at the customer’s location.
- Represent the company and collect customer feedback to facilitate continuous‑improvement opportunities.
- Conduct technical discussions regarding machinery repairs, upgrades, and selection to assist customers.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, parts, and equipment sales to develop customer‑focused solutions.
- Consider quality, accident prevention, occupational and environmental safety, and actively support damage avoidance.
- Perform tasks requested by management that relate to the position scope or arise from company needs.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical skills a plus).
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license (required to book rental cars for travel).
- Desirable: Technical training in electrical systems (single‑phase, 3‑phase, or low‑voltage).
- Desirable: Technical training on logic circuits, electric motors, gears/mechanical devices.
- Desirable: Multiple language skills.
Experience
- Desirable experience in a field service role.
- Experience using measuring and test equipment, including micrometers and multimeters.
- Experience writing progress and expense reports.
- Global travel experience.
- Experience in plastics processing or rotational molding highly desirable.

Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, use of hands for finger, handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional prolonged sitting during international commercial air travel.
Work Environment
The position involves work in both office and factory‑floor settings, locally or at customer sites. In a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise levels; personal protective equipment may be required.
Schedule
Monday to Friday with possible weekends or holidays as needed.
Travel
Travel frequency is approximately 50 % of the time, with an average trip lasting five days. The employee homes most weekends; international trips can last up to two weeks.
