About the role

The Field Support Manager of Inspections is responsible for performing inspections of store racking and cantilever systems on a scheduled basis to ensure safety and compliance with National Rack Standards and manufacturer guidelines. The role involves coordination and communication with store leadership regarding scheduling, inspection findings, and routine training. The leader reviews materials needs, identifies opportunities with the inspection app, and provides feedback on field trends.

Responsibilities

  • Ad Hoc Requests (5%) – Perform ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Audit Review (5%) – Reviews independent engineering audits of inspections for feedback and learning.
  • Inspection Process Feedback (5%) – Provides feedback on tendencies in the field and opportunities in the inspection process.
  • Racking Inspections (80%) – Performs and reviews store racking inspections across assigned territory.
  • Safety and Compliance (5%) – Works closely with store leadership on immediate safety concerns and training on National Racking Standards as applicable.

Reporting Structure

This position typically reports to the Senior Manager of Inspections and does not have direct reports.

Travel Requirements

Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
  • Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort (e.g., dust, fumes, or odors).

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 5+ years of work experience (required).
  • 1+ year of previous leadership experience (required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
  • 5+ years of work experience (preferred).
  • 1+ year of previous leadership experience (preferred).
