Field Superintendent - Modernization
About the role
We Elevate... Quality of urban life. Join us as a Field Superintendent - Modernization. Your main responsibilities include managing field technicians for hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations, participating in field surveys, preparing modernization proposals and bids, determining the scope of work and manpower needed, building a team environment, managing training and development, fostering excellent communication, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, monitoring job completion, supporting the local sales team, and enhancing quality and safety for modernization projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage field technicians in the installation of elevator modernizations
- Prepare modernization proposals and bids
- Determine the scope of work and manpower needed for projects
- Build a team environment by leading field technicians
- Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools and standards
- Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union
- Assure that each modernization project meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements
- Maintain job completion and drive efficiency
- Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for modernization projects
- Support the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints
- Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees
- Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field
- Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred
- Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred
- Computer proficiency required. Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes and SAP is preferred
- Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing

Skills
- Knowledge of elevator equipment/parts and ability to determine the correct part required for all aspects of a project
- Ordering parts required for projects
Benefits
Base Salary: $113,400 - $141,700
Fully vested 401k match, up to 7% of total eligible compensation.
