Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage field technicians in day-to-day operations of installing hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations.
  • Actively participate in field surveys for prospective modernization projects and be involved in preparing modernization proposals and bids.
  • Determine the scope of work required and manpower needed to complete projects in a timely and profitable manner.
  • Use knowledge of elevator equipment/parts to determine the correct part required for all aspects of a project and order these parts.
  • Build a team environment by leading field technicians.
  • Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools, and standards.
  • Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union.
  • Assure that each modernization project meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements.
  • Monitor job completion and drive efficiency.
  • Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety for modernization projects.
  • Support the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees.
  • Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services, and procedures.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred OR 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
  • Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes, and SAP is preferred.
  • Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
