Your Main Responsibilities
- Manage field technicians in day-to-day operations of installing hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations.
- Actively participate in field surveys for prospective modernization projects and be involved in preparing modernization proposals and bids.
- Determine the scope of work required and manpower needed to complete projects in a timely and profitable manner.
- Use knowledge of elevator equipment/parts to determine the correct part required for all aspects of a project and order these parts.
- Build a team environment by leading field technicians.
- Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools, and standards.
- Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union.
- Assure that each modernization project meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements.
- Monitor job completion and drive efficiency.
- Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety for modernization projects.
- Support the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
- Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees.
- Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services, and procedures.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree preferred OR 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
- Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes, and SAP is preferred.
- Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
