About the role
The Field Specialist, under direction of the Operations Manager & Director of Operations, supports the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 inspections of aboveground storage tanks and pressure vessels.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Assist in the successful completion of all field projects as directed.
- Responsible for accurate communications with all crew members.
- Must be able to carry out directions of the crew Foreman.
- Maintain punctuality and perform all duties professionally.
- Perform NDE tasks as required.
- Perform all work and travel safely.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of industry experience.
- Experience with a field service company is required.
- Able to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
- Willing to travel when needed (approximately 75% travel), with little notice including travel overnight and by air.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Valid driver’s license, able to obtain passport, TWIC card (homeland security).
- Able to pass background and drug testing.
- Comfortable with heights and tight spaces.
- Knowledge or certified to perform MT, VT, MFL, PT and other NDE methods as required.
Qualifications

- Able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test, if required.
- May include occasional exposure to shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 50 pounds.
- Work frequently involves working from a kneeling/all-fours position.
- Work involves working in Confined Spaces.
- Work is conducted in an outdoor setting and in all weather.
- Adequate vision/corrective eyewear and be able to distinguish colors.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders frequently and repetitively.
- Available by phone during nonstandard working hours.
