About the role

The Field Specialist, under direction of the Operations Manager & Director of Operations, supports the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 inspections of aboveground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Assist in the successful completion of all field projects as directed.
  • Responsible for accurate communications with all crew members.
  • Must be able to carry out directions of the crew Foreman.
  • Maintain punctuality and perform all duties professionally.
  • Perform NDE tasks as required.
  • Perform all work and travel safely.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with a field service company is required.
  • Able to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
  • Willing to travel when needed (approximately 75% travel), with little notice including travel overnight and by air.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Valid driver’s license, able to obtain passport, TWIC card (homeland security).
  • Able to pass background and drug testing.
  • Comfortable with heights and tight spaces.
  • Knowledge or certified to perform MT, VT, MFL, PT and other NDE methods as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license, able to obtain passport, TWIC card (homeland security).
  • Able to pass background and drug testing.
  • Able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test, if required.
  • May include occasional exposure to shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 50 pounds.
  • Work frequently involves working from a kneeling/all-fours position.
  • Work involves working in Confined Spaces.
  • Work is conducted in an outdoor setting and in all weather.
  • Adequate vision/corrective eyewear and be able to distinguish colors.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders frequently and repetitively.
  • Available by phone during nonstandard working hours.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
