Socket is seeking a skilled Field Services Technician- Tier II to deliver expert onsite installation services for residential customers, ensuring a seamless experience as they connect to Socket's fiber network. This role requires travel to various service areas and work in diverse conditions.

Location: Sullivan and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers
  • Install and configure customer equipment, including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by being professional, friendly, and knowledgeable during all service visits
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency
  • Install, terminate, and test network cabling, adhering to all relevant codes and standards
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities
  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including ladders and bucket trucks, in accordance with all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket with professionalism in the field

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered

  • Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes
