Field Service Tehnician
Job Description
Manage fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing and quality assurance of various types of application equipment utilized in the refractory industry. Equipment types include material handling and application systems such as pneumatic conveyors, dry powder screw feed hoppers, robotics, automated systems, mixers, pumping devices, combustion systems. Installation and setup of equipment ensuring it is properly configured and calibrated for its intended application. Troubleshoot when equipment malfunctions or experiences issues. Diagnose problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to get the equipment back to working condition. Ensure equipment delivers accurate and consistent results.
Qualifications
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical and pneumatic control circuits, AC and DC voltages
- Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical drive components
- Strong mechanical and electrical machine assembly skills
- Must be able to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings
- Must have the ability to identify, solve and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
- Experience working with proper hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments to complete the required assignment
- Good communication skills and computer literacy required
- Microsoft Word, Excel
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills along with good multi-tasking abilities
Equipment Upgrades and Optimization
- As technology evolves, specialists may be involved in evaluating and implementing equipment upgrades and optimizations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Track equipment inventory, order replacement parts, and manage the procurement of new equipment
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect all users
Education
A degree in Engineering Technologies (Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science) with 2+ years’ experience.
