Field Service Technician - Portland, OR

About the role

The Field Service Technician will install new equipment and provide routine maintenance/service to food manufacturing customers. The role requires strong electro-mechanical skills, a customer service-oriented personality, and a willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills to install and maintain processing & packaging machinery.
• Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
• Engage with customers on site, share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor, and inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Participate in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Requirements

• Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience - servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
• Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
• Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.

Qualifications

• Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired.

Salary

$65k to $85k a year
