Field Service Technician (Mid-West & Ohio)

About the role

The Field Service Technician will provide efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective service to customers. We are hiring 3 technicians to support different geographic needs within our service organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OEM certification status by keeping up to date with E-trainings, classroom trainings, and practical hands-on field tasks.
• Ensure maximum availability of INNIO gas engines and related balance of plant through fast response, trouble shooting, and fault rectification.
• Schedule maintenance to the required standard to avoid unnecessary replacement of parts and engine downtime.
• Respond to after-hours callouts in a timely manner.
• Take oil samples, label them, and dispatch them to the laboratory in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
• Select, order, and use parts correctly, returning any unnecessary parts to the warehouse to minimize waste.
• Ensure liaison and communication with the Service Manager, customers, and subcontractors on site is maintained at all times.
• Provide service reports and recommendations in a timely and professional manner.
• Protect and develop Clarke Energy’s industry standing by building and maintaining positive relationships with customers based on consistent professional dealings and attitude.
• Maintain a high level of site housekeeping and presentation.
• Ensure company-supplied equipment is well-maintained and kept at a high standard of cleanliness.
• Maintain tools in good and safe working order and calibrate as required.
• Support the Service Manager by supervising and training apprentices and new employees as needed.
• Follow and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times.

Requirements

• High level of skill working in the field with a minimum of 5 years field service experience.
• Large gas engine knowledge and experience.
• Electrical and/or mechanical knowledge.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work alone.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required and travel away from home up to 80% of the year.
• Reasonable level of IT skills.
• Desirable: Power generation knowledge and experience, knowledge of reciprocating gas engines and engine overhauls.

Pay

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. The salary range for this position is $35-45 an hour.
