Field Service Technician - Local Travel
Salary: $32–$38/hr + overtime + commission (first-year guarantee: $20,000). Local travel by car; majority of nights spent at home, occasional overnights. Multiple openings in Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; and Indianapolis, IN.
About the role
We are seeking a customer-focused Field Service Technician to join an established industrial-equipment manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, building strong customer relationships, and supporting production environments.
In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment at customer facilities. You will serve as a trusted technical resource, helping customers maximize equipment performance, reliability, and uptime while delivering exceptional service. This position requires regular regional travel and offers a high level of autonomy in the field.
Responsibilities
- Install, demonstrate, maintain, and repair marking, coding, and labeling equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment issues
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Train customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately and timely
- Attend technical training and company meetings as required
- Assist with office-based responsibilities when not traveling
- Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and support
Requirements
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Experience with industrial equipment, packaging equipment, or automation systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive locally; majority of nights spent at home, occasional overnights
- Professional, ethical, and customer-focused approach to service work
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa
