Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work safely, adhering to safety, environmental, and contamination control policies and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Attend and complete required technician training classes.
  • Maintain a necessary set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Work neatly and orderly, seeking ways to improve work methods, work area, and safety standards.
  • Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and control repair costs.
  • Complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times.
  • Monitor job expenses versus repair estimates, notifying the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, supporting team efforts and setting a standard for others to follow.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Train and/or mentor others in the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of all required training to be designated as a Service Field Tech II.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Office products, and relevant dealer software programs.

Working Conditions

  • Workload Fluctuation: Frequent changes in priorities, complexity, and quantity of work.
  • Work Schedule: Regular business hours with frequent requirements to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Stress Load: Regular exposure to stress (20-80% of the time).
  • Environmental Conditions:
    • Frequent exposure to outside environmental conditions (no effective protection from weather).
    • Frequent exposure to extreme heat (temperatures above 100°F for periods over one hour).
    • Occasional exposure to extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F for periods over one hour).
    • Frequent exposure to noise requiring shouting to be heard above ambient levels.
    • Frequent exposure to vibration (oscillating movements of extremities or whole body).
    • Frequent exposure to hazards (e.g., moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, heat, chemicals).
    • Frequent exposure to atmospheric conditions affecting respiratory system or skin (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
    • Frequent exposure to oils and cutting fluids (air and/or skin contact).
    • Occasional requirement to wear a respirator due to air particulates/contaminants.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequent climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, feeling, fingering, grasping, repetitive motion, talking, and hearing.
    • Frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting over 50 lbs.
    • Occasional balancing, stooping, and sitting.
